SKOPJE (Macedonia), November 15 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's Prodis, a unit of Russian pharmaceutical holding Protek Group, has announced a 15 million euro ($20.2 million) investment plan to expand its production capacity in a two-stage project, Skopje-based media reported on Friday.
Prodis opend a 3.8 million euro factory in the Bunardzik free industrial zone near Skopje last autumn. It produces homeopathic medicines, tea, organic and inorganic food products.
The company has earmarked 7.0 million euro for the construction of a second plant for homeopathic medicines in Bunardzik. Construction works are planned to start next April and should be completed by end-2014, daily Vecer (www.vecer.com.mk) quoted Prodis general director Kosta Dimov as saying.
Under the second stage of the investment programme, Prodis will build a facility for the purchase, processing and sterilization of raw materials, which will cost 8.0 million euro.
The two new facilities will employ some 150-200. Around 80 employees work at the company's first factory.
