January 20 (SeeNews) - Romanian natural gas producer [BSE:SNG] said on Friday that it has concluded an 8.2 million lei ($1.8 million/1.7 million euro) gas sale deal with Engie Romania, the local arm of France-based global utility company Engie.
The transaction comes as an addendum to a previous gas sale contract covering the period between May 1, 2022 and April 1, 2023, and brings the total cumulated value of the contract to 29.1 million lei, VAT excluded, Romgaz said in a report filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Engie Romania is a natural gas and electricity supplier serving over 1.9 million customers. It owns the companies Distrigaz Sud Retele, ENGIE Servicii, Braila Winds and Alizeu Eolian.
Romgaz is the largest natural gas producer and main supplier in Romania majority owned by the state. Its shares are listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, while its global depositary receipts (GDRs) are traded on the London Stock Exchange.
Romgaz shares traded 0.13% lower at 39.8 lei as at 0912 CET on Friday on the Bucharest bourse.
