November 6 (SeeNews) - Romanian home and deco online retailer Vivre said on Tuesday it has opened a logistics centre in Slovakia following a 1.0 million euro ($1.14 million) investment in equipment, infrastructure and merchandise.
The opening of the warehousing and processing facility is part of Vivre's expansion strategy in Europe, the company said in a press release.
Until the opening of the logistics centre in Slovakia, orders for the entire region were processed and shipped from Romania. The new facility streamlines the flow, ensuring a better delivery time and greater storage capacity.
With a total area of 3,000 square meters, the new logistics centre employs 50 and serves five of the nine countries where the Vivre brand is present: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia and Croatia, the retailer said.
For the next two years, Vivre plans to make new investments in order to support the growth of processed volumes.
"The opening of a new processing center at the heart of the serviced region naturally came in the context of the geographical expansion of Vivre sales in CEE in recent years," Vivre CEO, Monica Cadogan, said.
Vivre is a Romanian e-commerce and technology start-up launched in April 2012, which aggregates into one destination furniture, decorations, textiles and accessories collected from manufacturers all over the world.
Currently, Vivre is selling products in nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe: Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland and Greece.
Vivre has a permanent offer of over 60,000 product types and a history of over 3 million orders delivered successfully.
