August 17 (SeeNews) - Romanian gas pipeline operator Transgaz [BSE:TGN] said on Friday it has signed a 96 million lei ($24 million/21 million euro) contract for procurement of gas for the covering of its technological consumption with local supplier Romgaz [BSE:SNG].
The delivery contract covers the period from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019, Transgaz said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB.
Transgaz said on Tuesday its first-half net profit fell by 30% on the year to 279.6 million lei, due to a drop in transmission tariffs and gas volumes.
Romgaz's first-half net profit fell by 10.1% year-on-year to 797.7 million lei due to higher expenses.
Transgaz shares changed hands up 0.88% at 343 lei, while Romgaz shares traded 1.09% higher at 32.5 lei as of 1245 CET on Friday on the BVB.
