March 1 (SeeNews) - Romanian gas transmission system operator Transgaz [BSE:TGN] said that its net profit rose by an annual 97% in 2022, to 368.6 million lei ($80 million/75 million euro).
Operating profit was 21% higher year-on-year at 162.6 million lei, while operating revenue before balancing and construction activity rose 15% to 1.57 billion lei in 2022, Transgaz said in an unaudited annual financial report filled with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Operating costs before balancing and construction activity rose 15% on the year to 1.41 billion lei in 2022.
During 2022, Transgaz transported 141.9 million MWh of natural gas, down 7% on 2021.
At a group level, Transgaz booked a net profit of 350 million lei in 2022, up 98% on the year. Transgaz Group includes parent company Transgaz, Moldovan subsidiary Eurotransgaz and Moldovan gas transmission company Vestmoldtransgaz.
The Romanian state owns 58.5% of Transgaz, with the remainder in free float on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Transgaz shares traded 0.16% higher at 315 lei as at 1442 CET on Wednesday.
