April 9 (SeeNews) - Romania's trade deficit rose by 455.9 million euro year-on-year in the first two months of 2021 to an estimated 3.07 billion euro ($3.643 billion), the country's statistical office, INS, said on Friday.
Exports fell by an annual 3.7% and imports edged up 0.2% on the year in January-February, INS said in a statement.
The European Union absorbed 75.5% of Romania's exports in the period under review, and accounted for 73.8% of the country's imports.
Machinery and transport equipment accounted for 50% of Romanian exports and 37.2% of imports, while other manufactured goods made up 30.1% of exports and 30.2% of imports during the first two months of 2021.
Romania's trade gap widened by 6% on the year to an estimated 18.38 billion euro in 2020.
