August 28 (SeeNews) - Romanian flag carrier Tarom said it will introduce two new routes from the capital Bucharest to Tbilisi in Georgia and to Odessa in Ukraine, starting October 31.
The flights to Tbilisi will be operated twice a week - on Wednesdays and Fridays, Tarom said in a press release.
The flights to Odessa will be operated three times a week - on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Earlier this year, Tarom said it will launch routes to Erevan in Armenia and to Baku in Azerbaidjan this autumn.
Tarom's net loss narrowed to 78 million lei ($19 million/17 million euro) in the first half of 2018 from 101 million lei in the like period of last year.
Earlier this year, the transport ministry said it expected that Tarom would end 2018 with a slim profit following ten consecutive years of financial loss.
Tarom's turnover rose by 19.4% on the year to 530.7 million lei in the six months through June.
In July, Tarom signed a $586 million (504 million euro) contract with US aerospace company Boeing for five 737 MAX 8 airplanes.
In June, the company sold two Airbus A310 aircraft to Armenia Airways Aircompany for $5.48 million.
Tarom is currently operating on international and domestic routes with a fleet of 25 aircraft.
