March 29 (SeeNews) - Romanian pavers manufacturer Symmetrica plans to invest 6 million euro ($6.5 million) in the construction of solar photovoltaic (PV) parks at eight of its factories by the end of the year.
Each solar park will generate around 620,000 kWh of electricity per year, meeting 80% of the energy needs of the factory at which it is installed, the company said in a press release.
Together, the eight solar parks will reduce the company's CO2 emissions by more than 2,000 tonnes per year.
"Our estimates show that we will recover the investment in the next 4 years, at the current price of energy," executive director Sebastian Bobu said.
Established in 1999, Symmetrica has production facilities in the counties of Suceava, Iasi, Brasov, Bistrita-Nasaud, Vrancea, Arad, and in the capital Bucharest.
