August 14 (SeeNews) - Romania's Rompetrol Rafinare [BSE:RRC] said it has opened a charging station for electric vehicles (EV) in the eastern city of Bacau as part of a $1.1 million (966,200 euro) investment in a new fuel station in the city.
The EV charging can be done via AC and DC at 22kW, and the capacity of 50kW allows for simultaneous charging of two cars, Rompetrol said in a press release on Monday.
Thus, it takes only 20 minutes for an electric vehicle to be charged at 80% capacity in the Rompetrol station, while in a regular station it would take between 7 and 8 hours.
Rompetrol Rafinare ended 2017 with a consolidated net profit of $22 million, down 62% year-on-year.
Rompetrol Rafinare is the core asset of Dutch-based KMG International (KMGI), formerly The Rompetrol Group, which is fully owned by Kazakhstan's state-owned energy company KazMunaiGaz Group.
Rompetrol Rafinare shares traded flat at 0.0476 lei at 0911 CET on Tuesday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
