May 16 (SeeNews) - Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz Group said that its net profit inched down 0.98% year-on-year in the first three months of 2023, to 970 million lei ($213.6 million/196 million euro) .
The group's revenue dropped by an annual 25.9% to around 2.9 billion lei during January-March, Romgaz said in an interim financial statement on Friday.
EBITDA rose 53.47% on the year in the first quarter of 2023, reaching 1.88 billion lei.
Romgaz produced 1.236 billion cu m of natural gas in the period under review, down 5.39% on the year, whereas electricity production fell by an annual 6.46% to 323 GWh.
Natural gas consumption during January-March estimated at national level amounted to 38.72 TWh, 12% lower on the year.
Romgaz Group planned to invest 325.2 million lei in the first quarter of 2023, of which it used 222.6 million lei.
As against the end of 2022, the group's assets rose 10.8% to 15.876 billion lei.
Romgaz Group grew its net profit by 33% to 2.544 billion lei in 2022.
Romgaz shares traded 1.28% higher at 39.5 lei as of 1300 CET on Tuesday on the BVB.
