October 18 (SeeNews) - Romanian private healthcare services provider Regina Maria said on Friday it has completed the acquisition of Materna Care, which operates the Premiere Hospital in Timisoara, in western Romania.
The transaction was approved by the Competition Council in September, Regina Maria said in a press release.

"Four years since the opening of the first Regina Maria medical unit in Timisoara, we are pleased to expand our high quality medical services, together with the Premiere Hospital team," Regina Maria CEO Fady Chreih said.
Through the acquisition of Materna Care CMU has also acquired control of two companies under Materna Care's umbrella - Materna Invest and Premiere Care. The three companies together manage Premiere Hospital in Timisoara, western Romania, which has an area of 5,300 sq m, a capacity of 134 beds, six surgery rooms and a birth room. Materna Care employs 300 persons and posted a turnover of 7 million euro ($7.7 million euro) in 2018.
Regina Maria is currently serving a portfolio of over 40,000 subscribers in Timisoara, where it has 1 hospital, 5 imaging centers, 4 polyclinics, 1 occupational medicine clinic and 2 medical analysis laboratories.
