April 11 (SeeNews) - Romania's average net monthly wage rose by a real 1.9% year-on-year in February, after increasing by 0.5% in January, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the real net wage was flat in February, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said in a monthly labour market report.
In nominal terms, the average net monthly wage rose 10.6% on the year and edged up 0.6% on the month in February, to 3,721 lei ($819/ 753 euro).
The highest net average wage of 9,093 lei in February was registered in computer programming, consultancy and related activities, while the lowest, of 2,016 lei, was recorded in the hospitality sector.
According to INS, fluctuations in earnings were recorded during the year, mainly determined by granting annual premiums and holiday bonuses in December and March/April.
