March 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's average net monthly wage grew by a real 14.4% year-on-year in January, from 8.9% in December, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the real net wage was 1.5% lower in January, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said in a monthly labour market report.
In nominal terms, the average net monthly wage increased by 18.2% on the year and fell by 0.7% on the month in January, to 2,936 lei ($695/617 euro).
The highest net average wage of 6,768 lei was registered in the IT sector, while the lowest, of 1,718 lei, was recorded in hotel and restaurant business.
