August 17 (SeeNews) - Romania's economy rose 5.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022, compared to a 15.4% annual increase in the like quarter of 2021, the statistical board said on Wednesday, citing both non-adjusted and seasonally adjusted flash data.
Compared to the previous quarter, Romania's GDP grew by 2.1% in the second quarter, following a 5.1% increase in the first quarter of 2022, the statistical board, INS, said in a statement.
Overall, in the first half of 2022 Romania's GDP rose by an annual non-adjusted and seasonally-adjusted 5.8% year-on-year.
In 2021, Romania's economic output increased by 5.9%, compared to a 3.9% contraction in 2020.
Romania's economic output will rise by an estimated 3.5% in 2022, finance ministry analysts said earlier this month, improving their previous forecast for 2.9% growth.
