May 6 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania in the first three months of 2019 rose by 5.8% on the year to more than 2.31 million, the country's statistical board, INS, said on Monday.
Tourists spent 4.48 million overnights in Romania in the January-March period, up 8.7% compared to the prior-year period, INS said in a statement.
In March alone, the number of tourists staying in Romania increased 5.1% on the year to 500,400, while overnights increased by 6.7% to some 1.52 million.

The number of tourists staying in Romania in 2018 rose 6.3% on the year to 12.8 million.
