May 13 (SeeNews) - Romania recorded a current account deficit of 4.767 billion euro ($4.948 billion) in the first three months of 2022, compared to 2.736 billion euro in the same period of last year, the central bank said on Friday, citing provisional data.
The deficit on trade in goods widened by 1.557 billion euro, while the surplus on services income increased by 72 million euro, BNR said in a statement.
Also, the primary income balance recorded a deficit of 287 million euro, while the secondary income surplus narrowed by 16 million euro during January-March.
Romania recorded a current account deficit of 16.95 billion euro in 2021, compared to 10.979 billion euro in the same period of 2020.
