May 8 (SeeNews) - Romania's president Klaus Iohannis signed into law a bill approving a 1.0 billion euro ($1.19 billion) loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for financing of transport infrastructure projects, the president's office said in a statement on Monday.
The EIB loan will co-finance transport infrastructure projects totalling 6.8 billion euro during the 2014-2020 EU programming period, as announced by the bank in July 2017.
The location of the projects will vary, with the majority of them to be implemented in less developed regions of Romania and/or on TEN-T priority axes.
