March 29 (SeeNews) - Romania's prime minister Viorica Dancila has appointed former finance minister Ionut Misa as new head of the national fiscal authority ANAF, the prime minister's office announced on Thursday.
Ionut Misa will replace Mirela Calugareanu at the helm of ANAF, the prime minister's office said in a statement.
Orders of Calugureanu's dismissal and Misa's appointment were published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday after the prime minister signed them.
Neither the prime minister, nor finance minister Eugen Teodorovici have given any explanation of the decision.
Calugareanu was named ANAF chief in July, replacing Bodgan Stan, who was dismissed after former prime ministers Sorin Grindeanu and Mihai Tudose publicly expressed dissatisfaction towards ANAF's performances in tax collection.
