January 18 (SeeNews) - Romanian real estate developer Opus Land said on Monday that it will invest 29 million euro ($35.1 million) this year in the construction of a further 500 apartments and villas in the Cosmopolis residential area near Bucharest and the expansion of the strip mall in the area.
The investment will also be used for the development of new green spaces and 12 new swimming pools in Cosmoplis, Opus Land said in a press release.
In 2020, Opus Land invested 22 million euro in the residential complex and sold 488 units in it. The company targets the sale of approximately 500 units this year.
Cosmopolis has so far completed 4,100 homes in Cosmopolis for more than 11,000 inhabitants. By the end of 2021, Opus Land plans to reach over 13,000 inhabitants.
The company said that it has invested 350 million euro to date in the construction of buildings, infrastructure, commercial and green spaces in the Cosmopolis area. The residential complex is located in the Stefanestii de Jos commune in Ilfov county, some 15 km away from Bucharest.
Opus Land is part of Turkey's Buyukhanli group of construction companies.
