April 29 (SeeNews) - Romania’s biggest oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] recorded 1.748 billion lei ($372.4 million/353.2 million euro) in consolidated profit in the first quarter of 2022, up from 573 million lei in the first quarter of 2021, it said on Friday.
The company will distribute a dividend of 0.0341 lei per share for 2021, or a total gross dividend of 1.932 billion lei, it said in a statement. As a result, the Romanian state, holder of a 20.6% stake of in OMV Petrom, will receive 398 million lei in dividend.
Capital expenditures for the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 629 million lei, a 10% increase over the like period of 2021. As much as 453 million lei were directed to exploration and production, 121 million lei to refining and marketing, and 49 million lei were allocated to gas and power.
In March, the company completed a 4,600 MWh photovoltaic park in Icoana, Olt county, which will supply green energy for its own operations.
Austria's OMV Aktiengesellschaft holds a 51.011% stake in OMV Petrom; a further 20.639% is held by the economy ministry, while the remaining 28.35% is listed on the BVB and the LSE.
OMV Petrom shares traded 0.52% lower at 0.4815 lei/share at 14:32 CET on Friday.
