November 3 (SeeNews) - Romania’s oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] said on Thursday it has increased its share capital by 566.8 million lei ($114.2 million/115.4 million euro), after issuing 5,667,558,723 new ordinary shares with a nominal value of 0.1 lei each.
Following the increase, the company's share capital amounts to 6.231 billion lei, OMV Petrom announced in a bourse filing.
Of the new issue, 1,206,602,392 shares worth 120.66 million lei represented the in-kind contribution of the Romanian State, through the energy ministry. Additionally, 4,460,956,331 shares worth 446.1 million lei, including those represented by new global depositary receipts, were subscribed in cash by other shareholders exercising their preference rights.
The new shares are available for trading on the spot-regulated market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, while the new global depositary receipts are expected to be issued around November 3 and will be available on the London Stock Exchange shortly thereafter.
Austria’s OMV Aktiengesellschaft holds a 51.011% stake in OMV Petrom. The Romanian energy ministry owns 20.639% and 28.35% is free float on the Bucharest bourse and the London Stock Exchange.
Shares in blue-chip OMV Petrom traded 1.32% lower at 0.4520 lei by 1244 CET on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Thursday.
