February 25 (SeeNews) - Romania's M3, the broadest gauge of the country's money supply, grew by a nominal 9.7% year-on-year to 382.6 billion lei ($91.4 billion/80.4 billion euro) in January, compared to a 8.9% increase in December, the central bank, BNR, said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's M3 money supply rose by 0.4% in January, BNR said in a statement.
In real terms, January M3 was 6.1% higher on the year and was 0.4% lower on the month.
Romania's M1 rose 11.9% on the year to 233 billion lei last month, compared to 11.7% in December.
Net foreign assets rose by 9.7% in January, reaching 174.3 billion lei, while net domestic assets jumped by 9.6% to 208.3 billion lei.
