March 23 (SeeNews) - Romania's M3, the broadest gauge of the country's money supply, increased by a nominal 10.1% year-on-year in February, reaching 312.2 billion lei ($73.8 billion/68.4 billion euro), compared to a 9.1% advance in January, the country's central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's M3 money supply rose 0.8% in February, BNR said in a statement.
In real terms, February M3 money supply was 9.8% higher on the year and 0.9% higher on the month.
Romania's M1 rose 20.6% on the year to 179.1 billion lei last month, after posting a 19.6% annual growth in January.
Net foreign assets grew by an annual 26.5% in February, reaching 143 billion lei, while net domestic assets dropped 0.8% to 169.2 billion lei.
