September 23 (SeeNews) - Romania's M3, the broadest gauge of the country's money supply, grew by a nominal 14.3% year-on-year to 453 billion lei ($109 billion/93 billion euro) in August, compared to a 14% increase in July, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's M3 money supply rose 1.5% in August, BNR said in a statement.
In real terms, August M3 was 11.3% higher on the year and edged up by 1.5% on the month.
Romania's M1 rose 22.6% on the year to 306.9 billion lei last month, compared to 22.2% in July.
Net foreign assets jumped 17.3% in August, reaching 221 billion lei, while net domestic assets rose by 11.4% to 230 billion lei.
