April 25 (SeeNews) - Romania's M3, the broadest gauge of the country's money supply, grew by a nominal 9% year-on-year to 383 billion lei ($90 billion/81 billion euro) in March, compared to a 9.2% increase in February, the central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's M3 money supply fell by 0.5% in March, BNR said in a statement.
In real terms, March M3 was 4.8% higher on the year and was 1% lower on the month.
Romania's M1 rose 12.3% on the year to 233 billion lei last month, compared to 11.2% in February.
Net foreign assets rose by 4.6% in March, reaching 173.5 billion lei, while net domestic assets jumped by 13% to 209.5 billion lei.
