January 25 (SeeNews) - Romania's M3, the broadest gauge of the country's money supply, grew by a nominal 8.9% year-on-year to 381 billion lei ($91 billion/80 billion euro) in December, compared to a 10.9% increase in November, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's M3 money supply rose by 1.3% in December, BNR said in a statement.
In real terms, December M3 was 5.4% higher on the year and was 1.1 higher on the month.
Romania's M1 rose 11.7% on the year to 235 billion lei last month, compared to 13.2% in November.
Net foreign assets rose by 4.8% in December, reaching 166.6 billion lei, while net domestic assets jumped by 12.3% to 214.5 billion lei.
