January 25 (SeeNews) - Romania’s central bank said on Wednesday that M3, the broadest gauge of money supply, grew by a nominal 6.9% year-on-year to 603.1 billion lei ($133.7 billion/123 billion euro) in December, following a 6.8% rise in November.
On a monthly comparison basis, M3 money supply rose 3.2% in December, the central bank, BNR, said in its monthly monetary statistics report.
In real terms, M3 was 8.2% lower on the year in December and increased by 2.8% on the month.
Romania’s M1 monetary aggregate decreased by 2.1% on the year in December, to 398.4 billion lei, after a 0.6% drop in November.
Net foreign assets rose by an annual 4.2% in December, reaching 250.5 billion lei, while net domestic assets added 8.9% to 352.5 billion lei.
