June 9 (SeeNews) - Romania's Libra Internet Bank said on Friday that it has offered an 8 million euro ($8.6 million) loan to local energy producer GalicSud to finance the construction of a solar photovoltaic (PV) park.
The PV park will have an installed capacity of 15 MW and will generate 19,000 MWh of power per year, enough to cover the average electricity consumption of 10,000 households, Libra Internet Bank said in a press release.

The solar park will be built in the southern county of Mehedinti.
"The project is of paramount importance to our company, as it is of considerable scope, with positive and long-lasting effects for sustainable development," a representative of GalicSud said, as quoted in the press release.
Libra Internet Bank was established in 1996 and served customers in fields such as liberal professions, residential projects and agribusiness. It has a network of 55 branches in Romania, according to its website.
