September 25 (SeeNews) - Romanian banks’ outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 5.5% year-on-year in August, to 378.7 billion lei ($80.9 billion/76.2 billion euro), after a 5.6% annual rise in July, the central bank said on Monday.
Private lending in lei inched up 0.2% on the year to 258.3 billion lei in August, after growing 0.3% in July, the central bank said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency rose 19% on the year to 120.4 billion lei in August, as compared to a 19.1% rise in July.
