SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 20 (SeeNews) - Romania's annual inflation was the highest in the European Union in July 2019, the bloc's statistical office said.

Romania's annual inflation rate was 4.1% in July, Eurostat said in a monthly inflation report.

Among the other EU member states in Southeast Europe, Bulgaria and Slovenia posted annual inflation of 2.6% and 2.0%, respectively - above the EU average of 1.4%.

Inflation in Croatia and Greece was below the EU average - at 0.9% and 0.4%, respectively.
