March 31 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate stood at 5.5% in February, 0.1 percentage points below the rate recorded a month earlier, the national statistical office said on Friday.
When compared to February 2022, Romania's jobless rate was 0.3 percentage points lower, the statistical office, INS, said in a monthly report.
There were 459,300 unemployed in February, as compared to 465,000 in January and 486,900 in February 2022.
The jobless rate among women was 5.3% versus 5.7% among men in February 2023.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.4%. Adults aged 25 to 74 who were without a job in February represented 75.8% of all unemployed people. Unemployment among people aged 15 to 24 remains high at 22.2%.
Romania's workforce is estimated at about 8.18 million out of a population of some 19.05 million, according to latest data.
