November 29 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate rose to 4.0% in October from a revised 3.9% in the previous month, the national statistical office said on Thursday, citing provisional data.
On an annual comparison basis, Romania's jobless rate was 0.7 percentage points lower in October, INS said in a statement.
The jobless rate for September was revised to 3.9% from 4.1%, while for August it was revised to 4.1 from previous 4.3%.
There were 370,000 unemployed people in Romania in October, up from 355,000 in September, and lower than 434,000 in October 2017.
The jobless rate among women was 3.2% versus 4.6% among men in October 2018. The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 3.2%. The percentage of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 in the total number of unemployed was 72.9%.
Romania's workforce is estimated at about 9.0 million out of a population of some 19.5 million.
