August 1 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate increased slightly to 4% in June, from 3.9% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said citing provisional data.
On an annual comparison basis, Romania's jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points lower in June, INS said in a statement on Wednesday.
There were 352,000 unemployed people in Romania in June. This compared with 351,000 jobless people in May and 379,000 in June 2018.
The jobless rate among women was 3.3% versus 4.4% among men in June 2019. The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 3.1%. The percentage of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 in the total number of unemployed was 73.7%.
Romania's workforce is estimated at about 9.0 million out of a population of some 19.5 million.
