August 30 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate rate increased slightly to 3.9% in July from 3.8% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said on Friday, citing provisional data.
On an annual comparison basis, Romania's jobless rate was 0.3 percentage points lower in July, INS said in a statement.
There were 352,000 unemployed people in Romania in July, up from 341,000 in June, and lower than 376,000 in July 2018.
The jobless rate among women was 3.3% versus 4.4% among men in July 2019. The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 3.1%. The percentage of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 in the total number of unemployed was 74.7%.
Romania's workforce is estimated at about 9.0 million out of a population of some 19.5 million.
