October 1 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate rate decreased slightly to 3.8% in August from 3.9% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said, citing provisional data.
On an annual comparison basis, Romania's jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points lower in August, INS said in a statement on Monday.
There were 343,000 unemployed people in Romania in August, down from 352,000 in July, and lower than the 367,000 in August 2018.
The jobless rate among women was 3.2% versus 4.3% among men in August 2019. The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 3.1%. The share of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 in the total number of unemployed was 75.6%.
Romania's workforce is estimated at about 9.0 million out of a population of some 19.5 million.
