March 2 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania fell 39.6% on the year to 480,900 in January, the statistics board, INS, said on Tuesday.
Tourists spent 884,300 million overnights in Romania in January, down 43.9% year-on-year, INS said in a statement.
The new data includes the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and of the measures taken by the authorities to curb the spread of the virus. At the time of the research, some 761 units were closed due to COVID-19, INS added.

The number of tourists staying in Romania fell by 52.3% on the year to 6.335 million in 2020.
