November 8 (SeeNews) - Romania's retail sales rose by a seasonally and working-day adjusted 10.8% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2021, the statistical office, INS, said on Monday.
Also on an adjusted basis, sales of food, beverages and tobacco rose by an annual 4.1%, non-food sales increased 18.2% and sales of fuels were up by 11.5% compared to the like period of 2020, INS said in a statement.
Based on unadjusted data, retail sales climbed 11.9% on the year in the first nine months of 2021.
In September alone, Romania's retail sales rose by an adjusted 8.4% year-on-year. On a monthly comparison basis, retail trade turnover edged up by an adjusted 0.2% in September.
The figures do not include trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles.
