March 1 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 2,558 building permits for residential projects in January, up 10.2% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Monday.
As many as 65.6% of the permits issued in January were for projects located in Romania's rural areas, INS said in a monthly report.
The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to January 2020, in Bucharest-Ilfov, south-Muntenia, western, central, and south-eastern regions.
Drops were reported in the north-western, north-eastern, and south-west Oltenia regions.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
Romania issued 41,311 building permits for residential projects in 2020, down 2.9% year-on-year.
