December 3 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania jumped 44.3% on the year to 8.15 million in the first ten months of 2021, the statistics board, INS, said on Friday.
Tourists spent 18.5 million overnights in Romania in January-October, up 41% year-on-year, INS said in a statement.
during January-October, the average duration of stay was 2.3 days for Romanian tourists and 2.2 days for foreign tourists.
In October alone, the number of tourists staying in Romania jumped by an annual 31.4% to 648,100 million, while overnights jumped 28% on the year, to 1.36 million.
In October 2021, the average duration of stay was 2.1 days for Romanian tourists and 2.2 days for the foreign tourists.
The new data includes the impact of the Covid-19 crisis and of the measures taken by the authorities to curb the spread of the virus. At the time of the research, some 475 units were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, INS added.
