November 29 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 37,790 building permits for residential projects in January-October, down 15% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Tuesday.
In October alone, Romania issued 3,290 building permits, of which 70% were for projects located in rural areas, INS said in a monthly statement.
The regional distribution shows a decrease in the number of construction permits for residential buildings, compared to October 2021 in south Muntenia, northeast, northwest, center and west regions. The number of construction permits issued in the southeast, southwest-Oltenia and Bucharest Ilfov was higher in October 2022 compared to the same period of last year.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
Romania issued 51,287 building permits for residential projects in 2021, up 24% year-on-year.
