January 6 (SeeNews) - Romania's retail sales rose by a seasonally and working-day adjusted 5.2% year-on-year in the first eleven months of 2022, the national statistical office said on Friday.
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by an annual 3.3% during January-November, non-food sales rose 4.5% and sales of fuels were up 9.3%, the statistical office, INS, said in a statement.
Based on unadjusted data, retail sales climbed 4.5% on the year between January and November 2022. In November alone, Romania's retail sales increased by an adjusted 3% year-on-year.
As against the previous month, the adjusted retail turnover volume in November decreased by 0.1% due to due to lower sales of food, beverages and tobacco (-0.2%) and by the sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores (-3.8%). The sales of non-food products increased by 2.3%. The figures do not include trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles.
