September 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's energy output shrank by an annual 4.8% in January-July, the national statistical office, INS, said on Tuesday.
Romania's January-July energy production totalled 10.28 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE), INS said in a statement. Imports amounted to 8.887 million TOE, up 0.1% on the year.

Romania's electricity output and imports totalled 37.79 TWh in January-July, down 5.3% on the year.
In the first seven months of the year, thermal power plants generated some 12.45 TWh of electricity, down 1.6% on the year, while the output of hydroelectric power stations fell 27% to 8.79 TWh.
The production of the country's sole nuclear power plant fell by 0.9% on the year to some 6.19 TWh in January-July.
Wind farms generated 4.43 TWh, up by 17.3%, and solar plants produced 1.16 TWh, 7.1% higher on the year, in the first seven months of 2022.
Romania's January-July final electricity consumption fell by an annual 4.9% to 30.87 TWh.
The country's electricity exports fell by 7.4% to 3.75 TWh in January-July, while imports rose 15.6% on the year to 4.75 TWh.
The country produced 1.71 million TOE of crude oil, down 6.3% on the year, and 1.74 million TOE of coal, up 2.2% on the year, in the first seven months of 2022. Natural gas production decreased 4.9% year-on-year, reaching 4.06 million TOE.
Romania's energy production rose 1.7% year-on-year to 18.47 million TOE in 2021.
A TOE is the rounded-off amount of energy that would be produced by burning one metric tonne of crude oil.
