March 29 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 4,881 building permits for residential projects in January-February, up 3.1% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Friday.
As many as 67% of the permits issued in February were for projects located in Romania's rural areas.
The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to February 2018, in north-east,South-Muntenia, south-east, Bucharest-Ilfov, north-west, west, south-west Oltenia and central regions.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
The total number of permits for residential buildings issued in 2018 was 42,694, up 2.6% on the year.
