October 2 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania in the first eight months of 2019 rose by 4.9% on the year to more than 9.13 million, the country's statistical board, INS, said on Wednesday.
Tourists spent 20.8 million overnights in Romania in the January-August period, up 6.7% compared to the prior-year period, INS said.
In August alone, the number of tourists staying in Romania increased 1.1% on the year to 1.87 million, while overnights increased by 2.2% to some 5.05 million.
