April 6 (SeeNews) - The Romanian city of Iasi has opened a tender for the procurement of buses for its municipal fleet and related services, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced.
Iasi municipality, in eastern Romania, will buy low floor EURO 6 Class C diesel buses, spare parts, consumables, diagnostic and maintenance equipment and related services, the EBRD said in a tender notice posted on its website earlier this week.
Local authorities intend to use part of the proceeds of a 15 million euro ($16 milion) loan extended by the EBRD in December 2016 for the acquisition of 50 new buses with low emissions.
Tendering for contracts that are to be financed with the proceeds of the EBRD loan is open to firms from any country.
The closing date of the tender is May 18, 2017.
The EBRD has invested more than 7.3 billion euro in 384 projects in Romania to date. In addition, it has mobilised more than 14 billion euro in investment from other sources of financing in Romania alone.
