March 16 (SeeNews) - Romania's gross foreign debt increased to 150.2 billion euro ($159.2 billion) at the end of January from 142.7 billion euro at the end of 2022, the central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
The end-January figure includes 104.7 billion euro in long-term foreign debt, up from 97.68 billion euro at the end of 2022, BNR said in a monthly balance of payments report.
Long-term external debt service ratio came in at 8.8% in January, compared to 15.8% at the end of 2022.
The ratio of the BNR’s foreign exchange reserves to short-term external debt by remaining maturity increased to 87.9% at the end of January, from 82.7% at the end of 2022.
