February 28 (SeeNews) - Most company managers in Romania expect an increase in manufacturing and services, a decline in construction and stability in retail activities in the next three months, the national statistical office, INS, said on Thursday.
The managers of companies operating in the manufacturing industry expect moderate production volumes, with a 11% balance, during the next three months, INS said in a monthly business sentiment survey.

The balance is calculated as the difference between the percentage of respondents who expect positive developments and the percentage of those whose expectations are negative.
An increase is expected in beverages production, with a positive 37% balance. For prices of industrial products, a relative stability is forecast for the three-month period, with a positive balance of 1%. Regarding the number of employees, moderate growth is expected, with a negative balance of 14%.
Demand for services is expected to increase in the next three months, showing a positive balance of 11%. For the services sector, stability in the number of employees is forecast, the balance being 6%. According to the interviewed managers in the sector, prices will rise, with the balance here being 13%.
Construction companies expect a drop in the production volumes of their business in the next three months, with a negative balance of 13.The managers in the construction sector anticipate stability in the number of employees and an increase in the prices of construction works, with positive balances of 2% and 26%, respectively.
Managers of retail companies expect stability in economic activity in the next three months, with a positive balance of 2%. The volume of orders placed by trade units to the suppliers of goods will register a moderate drop, with a positive balance of 11. Employers forecast growth in the number of employees in the next three months, with a balance of 11%. The managers expect that retail prices will rise, with a balance of 35%.
A total of 7,160 managers of Romanian-based companies in construction, manufacturing, retail and services were interviewed in the survey.
