January 10 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of German energy company E.ON said that it delivered a photovoltaic (PV) power plant with an installed capacity of 1.28 MWp worth almost 1.6 million euro ($1.7 million) to glass producer Transparent Design.
The power plant consists of 2,784 solar panels placed atop the company's production plant in Popesti Leordeni, Ilfov county and at ground level, E.ON Energie Romania said in a press release on Monday.

The PV installation provides 25% of the electricity the factory needs for its operation. It is expected to generate 1,460 MWh of electricity per year, while reducing the company's CO2 footprint by 367 tonnes.
In 2023, E.ON will expand Transparent Design's PV plant by 624 panels with an installed capacity of 230 kWp. The investment is valued at some 255,000 euro.
