February 12 (SeeNews) - Romania's energy production rose by 4% year-on-year to 21.30 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) in 2017, provisional data from the country's statistical office, INS, showed on Monday.
Romania's own electricity output plus the country's imports fell 3.4% year-on-year to 67.29 TWh in 2017.

The country’s electricity exports dropped 23.7% year-on-year to 6.55 TWh, while imports rose 2.4% to 3.65 TWh.
Thermal power plants generated 28.09 TWh last year, 5.7% more than the year before, while hydroelectric power output fell 25.1% to 14.76 TWh.
The production of the country's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda rose 2% on the year to 11.51 TWh in 2017.
Electricity generated from wind farms in 2017 rose 10.2% to 7.4 TWh.
Photovoltaic power stations generated 1.89 TWh, up 2% in comparison with the year before.
Final electricity consumption in Romania edged down by an annual 0.4% to 54.62 TWh in 2017.
Romania produced 3.42 million TOE of crude oil in 2017, down 4.4% on the year, and 4.65 million TOE of coal, up 10.1%. The country also produced 8.33 million TOE of natural gas, up 11.4% year-on-year.
TOE is the rounded-off amount of energy that would be produced by burning one metric tonne of crude oil.
