February 12 (SeeNews) - Romania's energy production edged down by 0.8% year-on-year to 19.98 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) in 2019, provisional data from the country's statistical office, INS, showed on Wednesday.
Romania's own electricity output plus the country's imports fell by 4.2% year-on-year to 64.4 TWh in 2019, INS said in a statement.

The country’s electricity exports fell by 34.4% year-on-year to 3.59 TWh, while imports surged by 74.2% to 5.11 TWh.
Thermal power plants generated 23.79 TWh in 2019, down 11.2% on the year, while hydroelectric power output fell 13.4% to 15.82 TWh.
The production of the country's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda edged down by 0.9% on the year to 11.28 TWh in 2019.
Electricity generated from wind farms in 2019 rose by 3.8% to 6.74 TWh.
Photovoltaic power stations generated 1.73 TWh in 2019, up 3.6% on the year.
Final electricity consumption in Romania fell by an annual 1% to 55.2 TWh in 2019.
Romania produced 3.33 million TOE of crude oil in 2019, down by 1% on the year, and 3.71 million TOE of coal, 8.7% less than in the same period of last year. The country also produced 6.69 million TOE of natural gas, down 2.5% year-on-year.
TOE is the rounded-off amount of energy that would be produced by burning one metric tonne of crude oil.
